FORMULA ONE
FUTURE TECH
2024
Launched in autumn 2024, I developed a large scale interactive LED touch wall for Silverstone Museum that showcases some of the future technologies being used in Formula One. The experience is designed for single user interaction, and starts with a looping screensaver video that encourages visitors to swipe the wall to begin.
Interacting with the screensaver transitions seamlessly from the video to a real-time 3D formula one car, rendered using HDRP. Visitors can now swipe left and right to rotate the car between four menu options: power, chassis, fuel and net-zero. The 3D car changes between different models on some of these options, and I blended the transitions here by combining a dissolve shader and a Visual Effect Graph particle effect, both of which I created.
Selecting a play button on each option transitions seamlessly to a video that showcases each of the four technologies. When a video reaches the end, it transitions seamlessly back to the menu screen showing the real-time 3D car again.
