2024

Launched in autumn 2024, I developed a large-scale interactive LED touch wall for Silverstone Museum, showcasing emerging technologies used in Formula One. The experience is designed for single-user interaction and begins with a looping screensaver that invites visitors to swipe the wall to begin.

When swiped, the screensaver transitions to a real-time 3D Formula One car rendered in Unity's HDRP. Visitors can swipe left and right to rotate the car between four thematic areas: Chassis, Fuel, Power, and Net-Zero. For certain sections, the car transitions between different models, blending seamlessly using a custom dissolve shader and particle effects created with Shader Graph and Visual Effect Graph respectively.

Selecting an option triggers a smooth fade to black, leading into a video exploring the chosen technology. At the end of each video, the experience fades back to the interactive 3D menu, allowing users to continue exploring.

A key client requirement was the ability to transition between different car models within the menu. With no predefined solution in place, I proposed and developed a bespoke approach combining a dissolve shader with particle effects. This resolved an open technical challenge within the team and was approved by the client on first presentation, with no iteration required.
