FRANKEL - THE
STORY SO FAR

2014

Frankel, the greatest and most successful British racehorse of all time, won all 14 of his races between 2010 and 2012.

In 2014, The Frankel Lounge opened at Newmarket Racecourse and features an interactive touch screen all about this amazing horse. Working on behalf of Mather & Co, I designed and developed this interactive, based on a concept UI animation provided by Harrison:Fraser.

The interactive is themed around key people and places, the 14 races, and a key events timeline about Juddmonte, the international thoroughbred horse racing and breeding enterprise behind Frankel.

The interactive is displayed with a seamless and continuous video background that links all the sections together. Key people and places provides background information and photos about four places and six people. The Juddmonte Story provides a comprehensive, yet easy to explore history of 30+ events, each with photos.

Frankel's Races provides detailed access to all 14 races. Each includes video highlights, 3D fly through videos of the courses, photos, and statistics about the courses and races (distance, odds, runner up, time, runners and margin). The interactive includes 75+ captioned photos throughout.

In addition to the software design and development, I led the on-site installation and client handover. I updated the interactive in 2019 with additional, new content.
