JAPANESE
EXPANSION
2021
In October 2021, Imperial War Museum London opened the Second World War Gallery. I developed five interactives for this exhibition.
'Japanese Expansion' is a projected and interactive touch surface installation that takes visitors on a journey around the Pacific, beginning with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, through to the Japanese evacuation of Guadalcanal in early 1943.
The story is themed into thirteen chronological sections, accessible in any order. Each section presents short introduction text to summarise the key events that took place. Deeper exploration of each section is possible through captioned video and image content.
The interactive is projected onto a sloping touch foil surface, similar to a table top, approx 1m wide.
